I am happy to report that despite restrictions on U.S. visas,
the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering Department
welcomed more international students in academic year of
2004/2005 than in previous years. We also welcomed 72 new
freshman this year; a continuous increase since 2002.
Our faculty members continue to actively conduct research, win
research awards, and publish technical papers in highly
reputable journals - all while motivating students with the
inspired teaching.
MMAE has taken the lead in a manufacturing initiative that
involves universities across the United States. This initiative
entitled, "A National Coalition for Manufacturing Innovation",
is a collaborative response to the urgent and critical need to
restore and improve the competitive position of the U.S.
manufacturing industry in a global economy.
We are creating online program, which will enable international
students to earn a master's of engineering degree - with a
specialty in manufacturing - from their home countries. Of
course, domestic students will also be able to take advantage of
this online program.
Whether you are a former or current student or industry
professional, please do not hesitate to contact us. We want to
hear from you.
